history
The Breakfast Club began as a vision shared by six AUT business
students during 1993. This group, the planning team,
recognised the need to create a culture of interaction between
the business community and students of AUT.
A sit-down breakfast was devised, in a professional environment,
with an invited guest, speaking about their own experiences
and providing insight into a particular aspect of the business
world.
Members constitute both students and working professionals,
providing a flow of knowledge between both groups and encouraging
new contacts to be formed, all within an informal setting.
The Breakfast Club has become a huge success, being one of
the only groups of its kind in New Zealand and is a credit
to the huge input, drive and commitment that comes from the
ongoing group of AUT business students who coordinate the
events. Each year new planning team members are recruited
and The Breakfast Club is passed from one generation of business
students to the next.
